English edition — current snapshot. This chart mirrors the Czech edition as of 25 September 2026. Case numbers change quickly; for the latest figures see the continuously updated Czech page or WHO, ECDC and Africa CDC.

How to read the chart: this is the trajectory of reported confirmed cases and deaths among confirmed cases in the DRC, not when the infections actually occurred. INSP repeatedly points out that the DHIS2 database is being cleaned and harmonised; daily changes may therefore include retrospective laboratory confirmation or revised case classification.

Chart data cut-off: the series ends with the latest public detailed report, SitRep 131 with data as of 22 September. SitReps 129–131 have been added without reconstructing missing days. See Current situation for the latest overview.

7,820 confirmed casesLatest cumulative point: INSP/COUSP SitRep 131, data as of 22 September 2026.
3,779 deaths among confirmed casesSuspected deaths are not included.
109 cumulative pointsPublicly traceable SitRep points including SitReps 59, 62, 64–74 and 77–131; missing days are not recalculated.

Sources and limitations

The series is built from the official SitReps of the DRC INSP/COUSP for the current 17th epidemic of Ebola disease in the DRC (in the original MVB, maladie à virus Bundibugyo). Uganda is not included in the daily series because its public dashboard does not provide a historical daily series traceable in the same way. The dashboard as of 28 July separately reports 20 confirmed cases, 2 deaths, 18 recovered, 0 current admissions, 0 active contacts under follow-up and 821 contacts with completed 21-day follow-up.

SitReps 86–131 state their daily values directly. SitRep 89 reports 118 cases while the cumulative total rises by 117 because of ongoing harmonisation; SitRep 93 reports 101 cases while the cumulative total rises by 102 because one earlier case had been omitted. SitReps 111–113 directly report case/death pairs of 92/33, 94/23 and 86/39; death values sum community deaths and confirmed deaths in treatment centres. SitRep 113 newly reports Kayna and 61 affected health zones. SitReps 114–116 directly report 82/41, 82/51 and 71/41 for 5–7 September; no new health zone was reported. The bars therefore use directly reported daily values rather than differences between cumulative totals. Older source limitations and discrepancies are documented in detail in the accompanying README.

SitReps 117–121 directly report case/death pairs of 86/43, 99/39, 80/49, 91/39 and 87/38 for 8–12 September. SitRep 119 adds Bulu in Sud-Ubangi; since 10 September, 62 health zones in seven provinces have been affected.

SitReps 122–125 directly report case/death pairs of 58/35, 87/35, 59/32 and 71/28 for 13–16 September. No new health zone was added.

SitReps 126–128 directly report case/death pairs of 66/34, 73/37 and 58/23 for 17–19 September. Deaths sum explicitly reported community deaths and deaths in treatment centres: 16 + 18, 25 + 12 and 13 + 10. SitRep 127 newly lists Dungu, a border health zone in Haut-Uélé, bringing the total to 63 zones; it does not report a case in South Sudan.

SitReps 129–131 directly report 61/33, 40/27 and 47/20 cases/deaths for 20–22 September. Deaths sum the reported community and treatment-centre figures: 22 + 11, 14 + 13 and 13 + 7. SitRep 131 reports a second case in Sud Ubangi, with no newly affected health zone.

Processing of personal data

What we collect

Web server access log — IP address, time, page address, browser type and referring page. Deleted after 14 days.

Visit counts by organisation — the IP address is resolved to an organisation (for example “Charles University”) and discarded. Only counts are kept. They are not personal data.

Which pages are read — our own analytics running on our server, with no cookies and no device identifier. The data does not go to third parties.

On your device we store a single item, and only so that this notice does not appear on every visit. It is not an identifier and it goes nowhere.

Your rights

You have the right of access to your data, to rectification or erasure, to restriction of processing, to object, and to lodge a complaint with the Czech Data Protection Authority.

⚠️ In practice: we cannot find you in the access log unless you tell us the IP address and roughly when you visited — we keep nothing else to search on.
